A dramatic recreation of the life of this extraordinary devotee, who was born in a Mohammedan family and took to the chanting of the holy names of Lord Hari. Living in 16th century muslim India at the time of Lord Chaitanya, Haridas Thakur is dragged through 22 market places and beaten, until he gives up chanting or dies. His miraculous recovery by his absorption in the holy names attests to his firm faith and devotion to the Lord. Haridas would chant day and night, sometimes going without food or sleep. He is called Namacharya, or "teacher of the holy names".
