Lord Krishna performed the pastime of lifting Govardhana at the young age of just 7. When the inhabitants of Vrindavan decided to worship the cows and Govardhana hill instead of the annual worship of the king of heaven, lord Indra, Indra then became angry and decided to punish the inhabitants of Vrindavan. Lord Krishna decided to curb the pride of Indra. When Indra sent torrents of rain and big storms to destroy Vrindavan, Lord Krishna simply lifted the mighty hill of Govardhana and used it as an umbrella to protect the residents of Vrindavan. Lord Krishna held the hill for seven days and seven nights on His tiny pinky finger.
